Cat Gestation Calculator & Chart
Cats are pregnant for about 64 days — just over nine weeks — with a normal range of 58–70 days. Queens are induced ovulators, so timing from breeding is fairly reliable. A queen passing day 70 with no kittens warrants a vet visit.

Common questions
How long is a cat pregnant?
About 64 days — just over nine weeks — with most queens delivering between days 58 and 70 after breeding.
When can a vet confirm a cat pregnancy?
Ultrasound from about day 21, palpation by an experienced vet around day 17–25, and X-ray kitten counts from about day 42.
What are the signs queening is close?
Nesting in closets and quiet corners, restlessness, calling, and milk in the glands a day or two out. Set up the nesting box a week early so she chooses it instead of your laundry.
How many kittens should I expect?
Average litters run 3–5 kittens, first litters often smaller. An X-ray after day 42 gives the real count so you know when delivery is done.
